Nature Connection

Valuing and protecting our planet

Hannah Holden, founder of Forest Lights

Inspired by Nature, Led by Experience

Growing up in Scotland's Outer Hebrides, I learned early the magic and wonder of the natural world. I created Forest Lights so children can experience that same sense of freedom, discovery, and connection — and so families can be part of a community that values and protects our planet.

With an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh and a PGCE from the Institute of Education in London, I've taught English for over 8 years across South Korea, England, and Switzerland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Safety is our top priority. We ensure this through:
  • No fires or tool use until children are developmentally ready and have received safety training
  • Small groups with intentionally low ratios so children are always in sight
  • Current Paediatric First Aid certification and a complete first aid kit at all times
  • Full liability insurance coverage
  • Risk assessments for all activities (available upon request)
Sessions vary by season and weather but always include snacks, nature walks, free play, craft activities, and storytelling. After each session, parents receive a WhatsApp update. We respect children's privacy — no photography takes place during sessions.
Forest Lights offers outdoor exploration and hands-on learning with low child-to-adult ratios. Children build friendships with peers who share a love of nature, develop confidence through encouragement, and grow their curiosity in a safe, supportive environment — all while practising their English in a natural, immersive setting.
